I like the way that this book starts with the recipe and how it leads to stories of Tita's memories. I hate Mama Elena and think it Pedro's reason to marry Rosaura is completely stupid and not legitimate. I don't understand how either Tita or Pedro could stand being together but not.
I totally agree! Mama is terrible. How could Pedro and Tita live in the same house and not be together-ridiculous. This book is like a soap opera. But I love the recipes included in the novel, and Tita's suppressed rebel spirit.
